About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Support Workers in the community support space to join our team on a Casual basis. you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to a range of clients.
As a Support Worker you will support people living with disability:
- Provide person-centred active support to participants in one-to-one settings
- Assist in the creation and monitoring of individual goal plans or follow planned programs, as directed
- Complete required documentation and progress notes as required
- Promote a stimulating, caring and culturally appropriate environment for participants
- Provide any required self-care, social and emotional support to participants
- Use positive behaviour support strategies and authorised restrictive practices where required
- Willing to complete sleepover shifts attending to participant needs
- Maintain appropriate and effective communication with all stakeholders, including Team Leaders, peers and management
This is a casual position based at Sunnybank Hills
About You
You will have:
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with disability
- Dedication to person centred support principles & individualised support practices
- Demonstrated ability to complete job tasks in accordance with participant plans in a timely manner
- Ability to apply understanding of ‘duty of care’ to delivering support services and escalate issues when needed
- Demonstrated ability to write and maintain accurate written records and documentation
- Ability to use clear and concise language in verbal communication
- Passion for improving the life of people living with a disability
We can offer an IMMEDIATE START if you possess the following –
- Criminal History Check (must be less than 6 months old)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening and Blue Card
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- All support workers must have a current "C" class driver's licence and a roadworthy, registered and insured vehicle
