About the Role:
We are seeking Expression of Interest from a motivated, innovative & proactive individual to join our School Leaver Employment Supports team on a Casual basis. This position will assist participants and school leavers to achieve their employment goals and social inclusion under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) through one to one servicing with a key focus towards building capacity towards employment. They will require strong networking, organisational and communication skills to create successful relationships amongst a variety of stakeholders. These stakeholders may include but are not limited to school leavers, current participants, educators, internal and external stakeholders, parents, carers and advocates.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Build a professional relationship with participants at differing stages in their employment journey
- Provide a positive and supportive environment for people with disability to assist them with reaching their goals of finding and sustaining employment
- Creating an individual support plan and a 12 week plan that outlines the participants journey towards finding and keeping a job
- Create and seek opportunities that enables an individual to reach their own potential as a valued member of their community in line with their NDIS goals, inclusive of work experience activities.
- Facilitate individual and group activities, using a variety of enabling styles including but not limited to job readiness skills, volunteering / work experience, and confidence building
- Ensure efficiency and compliance with administrative processes in line with organisational policies, procedures, legislative requirements and guidelines from the National Disability Insurance Agency
- Maintain data integrity and efficiently manage workload; prioritising tasks and ensuring all work is completed within designated time frames
This is a casual position based at: Southport
About You:
Your goal is to deliver quality person-centered support, bringing to the job your passion for assisting individuals with a disability on their individual employment journey. To be successful in this role, we are looking for an individual who has the following:
- The ability to work autonomously and be self motivated
- To be proactive, showing initiative and problem-solving skills
- Resilience and patient, with the ability to work with complex behaviours
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate – or willing to obtain prior to start with Help
- A reliable vehicle with current comprehensive car insurance
- Demonstrated ability to provide vocational support to participants who live with disability, delivering a service that enables them to build their capacity and work toward meeting their employment goals
- Experience in facilitating individual and group educational activities
- High level of customer service skills, networking and stakeholder engagement skills
